The workshop aims to study issues, styles, authors, and contemporary photography tendencies, considering the possibilities opened for exhibition and display in contemporary media. Frontal lessons, activities, and group sessions will engage the students with photography practices, considering both the relationship with history and the actual possibilities for photographic production and its recent uses.

Programme

At first, the classes will be dedicated to the analysis of photographic images by the teacher and the students. The following lessons will be focused on specific photographic genres (i.e., fashion photography, street photography, portraits, remix, society and politics, etc.). The second part of each class will be dedicated to the creation of photographic projects, that the groups will present in the last encounters.

Type of delivery of the course

30 hours of frontal lessons and workshops.

Attendance

The presence is mandatory; there is the possibility to be absent a maximum of 3 times during the whole workshop, excluding the last days, when students have to present their group projects.

Type of evaluation

Attendance and active participation during classes are needed, as well as meet the assigned original photographic project, to be realized by groups of 2-4 people.
