Programme

The seminar provides manly with a methodology. In fact, the photography comes not only by the eyes, needing instead a sort of dialogue among mind, eyes and heart. It is therefore essential to understand how to feed them, how to "train them" in order to translate an event to be narreted with the light in a true, fair way. The seminar intends to provide tools for reading the reality and learning on how to narrate a story; it also wish to stimulate a reflection on how the event is perceived personally, on the impact it has on the students. During the lessons some practical examples of reportage, both from the teacher herself and from different photographers will be showed and studied. Selected guests will attend some lessons in order to bring and exchange with the students their own experience and to update about new methodologies on journalism and photography.
Through specific and key reportage, teacher and students together will consider the concept of the truth and the lie in photojournalism, on the ethic of journalism. Last but not least, it is foreseen a reportage practical: the students will be sent outdoor and invited to prepare a photographic reportage putting in practice the lessons learned.
