The course offers a historical reconstruction of the legal and canonical marriage patterns from the Middle Ages to the 1983 Code, in relation to the change of the social, institutional and legal. Programme
The course offers a historical reconstruction of the legal and canonical models of marriage from the Middle Ages to the 1983 Code. The different forms of marriage in the papal decretals, in the Council of Trent and in the Codes of canon law of 1917 and 1983 will be examined. The final oral examination is aimed at verifying that the student understands and is able to examine the relationships between the topics. For this purpose, the exam takes place through broad questions, that are gradually made more specific, depending on the answers. The acquisition of fundamental notions and the understanding of the key features of the discipline are considered essential for the purpose of a positive evaluation.
