The course aims to provide participants with the instrumental and operational knowledge for the design and implementation of a database, using the Open Source DBMS mySQL.

Programme

The "Digital Training" module, intended for students who have passed the exam of the "Introduction to Digital Technologies" course, aims to allow participants to carry out practical activities on the topics covered in the aforementioned first year course.
In particular, the following practical activities will be carried out:
1) Installation and configuration of an Open Source platform for database management
2) Creating a personal workspace
3) Data domain modeling, using the ERA methodology
4) Creation of tables, keys and indexes
5) Implementation and population of the database
6) Developing queries for analyzing domain data

During the lessons, participants will be provided with all the necessary information so that they can independently carry out the illustrated steps for the creation and basic use of the software platform used for the teaching laboratory.
The suitability of participants will be assessed on the basis of the work that will be carried out individually during the module.
