20402348 - INTRODUCTION TO SEDIMENTOLOGY

The course aims to provide students with the fundamental concepts of sedimentology through the study of sediments, of the environments in which they are formed and of the principles that govern the transport and sedimentation

Type of delivery of the course

L'insegnamento verrà impartito mediante lezioni frontali, esercitazioni di laboratorio ed escursioni di terreno

Type of evaluation

The oral exam focuses on the entire teaching program, with questions aimed at verifying knowledge on: (i) textures of sedimentary rocks, (ii) character of the different types of flow carrying clastic material, (iii) sedimentary structures on rock samples, and (iv) knowledge of sedimentary environments.
