L'obiettivo di questo corso è quello di esplorare come la lettura di testi di teoria politica classica, con un occhio al genere, può produrre intuizioni uniche e promuovere il pensiero critico sulle idee e gli argomenti politici. Le letture sono tratte sia da fonti primarie che secondarie e l'enfasi è posta sul modo in cui la rilettura di testi canonici può arricchire i dibattiti contemporanei su argomenti come la libertà, la cittadinanza, l'uguaglianza e la rappresentanza. Gli studenti analizzeranno e comprenderanno come le relazioni di genere definiscono e modellano la politica e il potere, nonché ad applicare teorie e concetti di analisi di genere, per comprendere i processi politici e sociali. Alla fine del corso gli studenti acquisiranno una comprensione critica di come le relazioni di potere basate sul genere sono presenti nella vita sociale e politica.
