Natural and Environmental Sciences<\/h2>\n

Bachelor’s Degree in Natural and Environmental Sciences is a programme designed to train specialists in nature conservation and environmental sustainability. Managed by the Department of Sciences-recognised as a “Department of Excellence” (2018-2022 and 2023-2027) for research on the Anthropocene-it combines rigorous theoretical instruction with extensive practical experiences. The curriculum integrates advanced laboratory and IT resources with seminars and guided support, ensuring students develop a comprehensive scientific methodology across both the Biosphere (from molecules to ecosystems) and the Geosphere (including geology, palaeontology, mineralogy, petrology, geochemistry).<\/p>\n

Admission to the programme is open-access, requiring a recognised secondary school diploma. Knowledge acquired at school in Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Natural Sciences, logical reasoning, and reading comprehension is assessed at the beginning of the academic year through a compulsory-but non-selective-test. Students benefit from advanced laboratories and targeted academic support via tutor-led study groups and remedial sessions. The strong emphasis on combining theoretical lectures with fieldwork and lab sessions equips students to gather, classify, analyse, and interpret scientific data effectively.<\/p>\n

Roma\u202fTre offers international mobility opportunities, including Erasmus+ study and traineeship programmes, as well as university-wide grants for placements in non-European institutions and for thesis research abroad. Reserved for graduates, the programme supports progression to a Master’s in biological or geological sciences (with PhD and teaching options), or entry into the workforce. Graduates are prepared for roles such as registered biologists (Section B), environmental educators, scientific communicators, and technical specialists in water, air, and soil hygiene and protection.<\/p>\n\t
