The Library System is made up of eight area libraries, which manage the documentary heritage belonging to related disciplines.<br \/>\nSome area libraries are divided into multiple sections, located in various university campuses to be as close as possible to students and staff.<br \/>\nThe System provides a vast and constantly updated bibliographic and documentary heritage.<br \/>\nArea libraries are also open to the public.<\/p>\n<div class=\"wm-accordion clearfix\" data-active=\"0\" data-mode=\"toggle\">\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">History<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix History\"><p>Since its foundation in 1992\/1993, University Roma Tre has developed an improvement and upgrading proceeding of its library services through the creation of a Library Commission. An University Library System (SBA) was created in line with the trend of the Italian Higher Education System in order to manage and develop library services for its community.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Mission<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix Mission\"><p>The University Library System of Roma Tre offers qualified resources and services in teaching and research by contributing to the cultural development of each individual and of its community.<\/p>\n<p>Its role is based on the principles and values of the \u201c<span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__20285-1\">Link identifier #identifier__20285-1<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__20285-1'  href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/file_locked\/2020\/06\/Statuto-1.pdf\">University Statute<\/a>\u201d of the\u201d <span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__184980-2\">Link identifier #identifier__184980-2<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__184980-2'  href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/file_locked\/2020\/05\/Codice-Etico.pdf\">Code of Ethics<\/a>\u201c, \u201c<span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__19783-3\">Link identifier #identifier__19783-3<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__19783-3'  href=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/wp-content\/uploads\/file_locked\/2020\/06\/Regolamento-di-funzionamento-del-Sistema-Bibliotecario-di-Ateneo.pdf\">Regulation on the management of the University Library System<\/a>\u201c.<\/p>\n<p>In order to achieve its mission the University Library System:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>promotes the dissemination of knoweldge;<\/li>\n<li>facilitates the use of informative resources together with its continuous updating and enhancement;<\/li>\n<li>provides its users with the necessary skills and information in order to encourage them to an autonomous use of the resources and services ;<\/li>\n<li>collaborates with other institutions aiming at improving the services and the cultural offer.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The University Library System focuses on the needs of the users, moreover the librarian\u2019s staff are required to\u00a0 behave in a welcoming and attentive way.<\/p>\n<p>The University Library System constantly verifies its strategies taking into account changing occuring within its community and the world of knowledge.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n<h3>Services<\/h3>\n<p>Below are listed the main services provided by the University Library System:<\/p>\n<div class=\"wm-accordion clearfix\" data-active=\"0\" data-mode=\"toggle\">\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Reading Rooms<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix ReadingRooms\"><p>Reading areas are conceived as shared areas for study and research, so that users should adopt a correct behavior avoiding disturbing other users and avoiding damaging bibliographic material or university facilities.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Reading and Consult<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix ReadingandConsult\"><p>In the reading rooms and in Roma Tre Libraries you can <strong>read and consult<\/strong> bibliographic material you may find on the bookshelves or in the storerooms.<\/p>\n<p>As for the localization of the books, you may consult <span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__160971-4\">Link identifier #identifier__160971-4<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__160971-4'  href=\"https:\/\/discovery.sba.uniroma3.it\/primo-explore\/search?vid=39CAB_V1\">RomaTreDiscovery<\/a> or the available signposting or asking to the desk staff.<\/p>\n<p>For entry and exit from the halls please respect the signs.<\/p>\n<p>The bookshelves in the reading rooms are bordered by yellow and black stripes on the floor that define the distance, only one user at a time can approach the bookshelves and take the books avoiding gathering. Other users have to wait their turn before getting near the bookshelf.<\/p>\n<p>The books can be consulted in the assigned seat once having sanitized the hands, with the recommendation to use properly face masks; the <strong>books shall be placed on the baskets<\/strong> located in each library room after consultation.<\/p>\n<p>As for the request of biblographic material kept in the strorerooms, please refer to the desk staff from 9:00 A.M. to 18:30 P.M.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n<\/div>\n<h3>Loans: service conditions<\/h3>\n<div class=\"wm-accordion clearfix\" data-active=\"0\" data-mode=\"toggle\">\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Service conditions<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix Serviceconditions\"><ul>\n<li><strong>Students<\/strong> of Roma Tre; <strong>foreign students<\/strong> attending Rome Tre University through International Mobility: maximum <strong>10 documents<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<li>University <strong>staff<\/strong>, University teaching staff, research <strong>fellows<\/strong>\u2019, <strong>PHD students<\/strong>: maximum <strong>20 documents<\/strong>;<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>All communications to students (loans receipt, book return receipt, reminder e-mails) will be addressed only to the <strong>institutional e-mail.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s always worth checking <span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__167900-5\">Link identifier #identifier__167900-5<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__167900-5'  href=\"https:\/\/discovery.sba.uniroma3.it\/primo-explore\/search?vid=39CAB_V1\">Roma Tre Discovery<\/a> for the effective availability of the books to avoid useless movements to the library.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Length of the library loan<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix Lengthofthelibraryloan\"><p>The length of the loan can be checked by consulting <span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__102783-6\">Link identifier #identifier__102783-6<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__102783-6'  href=\"https:\/\/discovery.sba.uniroma3.it\/\">Roma Tre Discovery<\/a>:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>30 days loan<\/strong> (renewal for a maximum of 120 days)<\/li>\n<li><strong>10 days loan<\/strong> (renewal for a maximum of 20 days)<\/li>\n<li><strong>10 days loan non- renewable<\/strong> (audio-visual material)<\/li>\n<li><strong>daily loan<\/strong> (expires at library closing time \u2013 non-renewable)<\/li>\n<li>documents <strong>to consult<\/strong> on site <strong>cannot be taken out<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Documents must be returned in the same condition in which they were delivered. A delay in the return would lead to the suspension of all the library services. Failure to return implies a career penalty for students and financial penalties for the staff. In case of loss, damage or theft, the user has to indemnify the lending library as specified.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">On line services reserved for institutional users<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix Onlineservicesreservedforinstitutionalusers\"><p>Institutional users <strong>can login<\/strong> through <span class=\"screen-reader-text\" id=\"identifier__41075-7\">Link identifier #identifier__41075-7<\/span><a aria-labelledby='identifier__41075-7'  href=\"https:\/\/discovery.sba.uniroma3.it\/\">Roma Tre Discovery<\/a> using their <strong>institutional credentials<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Authentication allows, <strong>for regular users, to book<\/strong> a volume <strong>at that time on loan<\/strong> <strong>to another user<\/strong>. A book already on loan displays the writing <strong>\u201d0 available\u201d<\/strong> and <strong>the expiring date of the loan<\/strong>. When the book becomes available again, an e-mail will be sent to the institutional e-mail address of the user who booked the volume communicating that it is available again (withdrawal within three working days).<\/p>\n<p>Volumes on <strong>daily loan<\/strong> are excluded from the booking.<\/p>\n<p>Authentication allows, moreover, to access to its own Library card, which enables to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>view <strong>ongoing<\/strong> and <strong>previous<\/strong> <strong>loans<\/strong><\/li>\n<li><strong>renew<\/strong> loans not yet expired (within 19:30 of the expiring day, if you are not suspended). <strong>Daily loan<\/strong> is <strong>excluded<\/strong> from renewal. If the book is already <strong>ordered<\/strong>, loan <strong>cannot be<\/strong> renewed. A loan of <strong>30<\/strong> days can be renewed for a total of <strong>120<\/strong> days. A loan of <strong>20<\/strong> days can be renewed for a total of <strong>20<\/strong> days (except audio-visual material)<\/li>\n<li>manage book reservation<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\r\n\n\r\n<div class=\"wm-item wm-item-wrap\"><h3 class=\"wm-item-title\" data-tags=\"\" data-tag-names=\"\">Intra-system loans<\/h3><div class=\"wm-item-content clearfix Intra-systemloans\"><p>All institutional users (students of Roma Tre; foreign students attending Rome Tre University through International Mobility, University teaching staff, University staff, research fellows\u2019 according to the <strong>Rules of loan library service in Roma Tre University<\/strong>), may request a book available for loan in other libraries of the University and delivered directly in the library of interest. Roma Tre users\u2019may request up to <strong>5 monthly loans of ebook (60 yearly), included 20 intra-system loans per year.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Since October 2022 are also available on an experimental basis:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>audiobooks in Italian:<\/strong> in download, length of the loan 28 days, 2 loans per week, publishers Emons, E\/O, Feltrinelli, Laterza etc., unrestricted number of concurrent users;<\/li>\n<li><strong>audiobooks in foreign languages:<\/strong> in streaming, length of the loan 30 days, unrestricted number of concurrent users;<\/li>\n<li><strong>film:<\/strong> in streaming, length of the loan 24 hours, all film genres of Italian and foreign production from years 40 to 2014.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Two million of digital objects open access<\/strong> such as maps, sheet music, e-learning, audio and video resources are also available.
