{"id":2261,"date":"2025-10-24T16:45:17","date_gmt":"2025-10-24T15:45:17","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/?page_id=2261"},"modified":"2025-11-12T22:28:19","modified_gmt":"2025-11-12T21:28:19","slug":"biomedical-sciences-and-technologies","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/education\/study-programmes\/study-programmes-in-italian\/phd-programmes\/biomedical-sciences-and-technologies\/","title":{"rendered":"Biomedical sciences and technologies"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<h2>Biomedical sciences and technologies<\/h2>\n<p>The PhD Programme in &#8220;BIOMEDICAL SCIENCES AND TECHNOLOGIES&#8221; (BST) is an interdisciplinary PhD programme encompassing fundamental Chemical, Physical, Biological and Computer engineering disciplines, including Inorganic and Organic Chemistry, Applied Physics, Biochemistry, Bioinformatics, General and Clinical Microbiology, Immunology, Microbial Biotechnology, Molecular Biology, Pharmacology, Physiology and Virology. The board of supervisors is composed of 18 internationally recognized experts specialized in the above disciplines (names of supervisors are listed in the website of the Department of Sciences of Roma Tre University). The programme is centered on biomedical research, with particular regard to the biological basis of emerging and\/or human pathologies, including infectious, metabolic end degenerative diseases. The student will benefit from the existence, within the doctoral programme, of areas of excellence in fundamental research and the close cooperation between basic and translational research. Doctoral theses are prepared in laboratories with strong biomedical imprinting, generally involving multi-disciplinary research approaches, and benefit from the expertise and technical platforms developed by the fundamental sciences. Students will work in a creative environment with strong integration and cooperation between chemistry, physics and biomedical disciplines, often in collaboration with clinical centers. The course is aimed at developing professional skills and specialized knowledge for a future career in biomedical research.
