On one hand, it is committed to purchasing green energy from certified renewable sources; on the other, it is increasing the amount of electricity self\u2011produced by photovoltaic systems installed in various buildings.<\/p>\n<p>There are currently two fully operational systems: one at the Via Volterra 62 site with approximately 25 kW and another at the Via Ostiense 133 site with approximately 101 kW.<\/p>\n<p>A system at the Department of Law, with a capacity of 125 kW, was built during 2025 and will soon be connected.<\/p>\n<p>Starting from 2023, the University commissioned a feasibility study to assess the possibility of installing photovoltaic systems at 11 University locations for a total nominal capacity of approximately 3,450 kW. Based on this study, a phased implementation plan has been launched which includes, during 2025, the construction of new systems at the following sites, for a total of approximately 946 kW:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>CHI 199 \u2013 Via Gabriello Chiabrera 199:<\/strong> 88 kWp<\/li>\n<li><strong>VAL 019 \u2013 Via del Valco di San Paolo 19:<\/strong> 55 kWp<\/li>\n<li><strong>OST 236 \u2013 Via Ostiense 230\u2013238:<\/strong> 678 kWp<\/li>\n<li><strong>OST 161 \u2013 Via Ostiense 159\u2013165:<\/strong> 125 kWp<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The energy production and the amount of CO\u2082 emissions avoided by the existing photovoltaic systems are constantly monitored.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-3061\" src=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/19-1160x644-1-719x399.png\" alt=\"image 181286\"   srcset=\"https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/19-1160x644-1-719x399.png 719w, https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/19-1160x644-1-768x426.png 768w, https:\/\/www.uniroma3.it\/int\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/03\/19-1160x644-1.png 1160w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 719px) 100vw, 719px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2>Supply of Electricity and Natural Gas<\/h2>\n<p>Roma Tre uses electricity and natural gas as its main energy sources.<\/p>\n<p>Roma Tre considers sustainability principles to be fundamental to all its planning activities; therefore, as with previous participation agreements, the University intends to activate the \u201cGreen Option\u201d. Most of the electricity supply is provided by an external supplier offering 100% renewable\u2011source certified energy. This option requires that, pursuant to ARERA Resolution ARG\/elt no. 104\/11 and subsequent amendments, the electricity supplied comes exclusively from renewable sources and is certified with a Guarantee of Origin (GO).
