Admission Requirements

According to current regulations, to be admitted to an LM-4 Master's Degree Program:

  • candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree or a three-year university diploma (as per DM 270/04, Art. 6);
  • the completion of essential educational activities listed in the table related to the L-17 class degree in Architectural Science is a mandatory curricular requirement (108 CFU – see the curriculum for L-17 class, DM no. 1649 of 19/12/2023);
  • applicants must have passed the mandatory admission tests required for enrollment in a bachelor's degree and/or a single-cycle master’s degree program explicitly aimed at “architect training,” as regulated annually at national level by the Ministry, which determines the number of enrollments through a specific decree.

Academic activities acquired through extra-curricular experiences, post-graduate programs or individual courses are not considered for the assessment of requirements.

Students meeting the requirements outlined in Article 3 of the Academic Regulations - Department of Architecture (Link identifier #identifier__166140-12Regolamenti didattici - Dipartimento di Architettura (uniroma3.it) are eligible for admission.
Applicants who earned a degree in architecture or related fields abroad may also enroll, provided that any deficiencies in the essential academic requirements do not exceed 12CFU credits (as quantified by Article 6 of the Academic Regulations), and are not all in the same academic subject area.

For students with foreign degrees, any deficiencies in the essential academic requirements must be fulfilled during the Master's degree program and before the assessment of individual preparation. The procedures for fulfilling these requirements will be agreed upon with the professors of the relevant subjects.

Application for Admission

Applications may be submitted by:

  • those who already hold the required qualification for admission
  • students enrolled in a nationally regulated study program directly aimed at architect training, who expect to graduate by the December 2025 session.

Applicants from Roma Tre University must access their personal account to request a transcript evaluation. They will select the exams taken (already available in their online transcript) and indicate their preferred study program(s) in order of preference.

Applicants from other universities must access their personal account to submit the application for admission, select their preferred study program(s) in order of preference, submit previous academic record including High school diploma and degree qualification, particularly, the following information:

  • academic year of first enrollment; final degree grade and weighted average grade (each exam grade is multiplied by the number of CFU credits, the total sum is then divided by the total number of credits from graded exams);
  • list of passed exams, including: Scientific-Disciplinary Sectors (SSD) and CFU credits for each exam or for each module of integrated  exams.

Applications missing the self-certification of passed exams with the corresponding SSDs will not be considered.

Admission Process

If the number of preliminary applications exceeds the number of available places, a merit ranking will be created and published on the official channels of the Department. Each applicant will be assigned a score based on their academic curriculum.

In drafting the ranking, the department reserves the right to request — to applicants from other universities (if necessary and only after submitting the application and required documents) — the presentation of a portfolio illustrating their academic and professional background.

Candidates who are ranked in a position eligible for admission to more than one Master’s Degree Program will be admitted to the course based on the order of preference indicated in the application.
