Roma Tre supports students with disabilities and those with Specific Learning Disorders (SLD) through the Inclusion System, ensuring access to knowledge and promoting the right to education as fundamental and cultural principles of the University.
The Inclusion System of Roma Tre consists of a network of structures, roles and services that guarantee students with disabilities and SLD full access to university life.
In compliance with current regulations and according to the guidelines of CNUDD, Roma Tre’s Inclusion System pursues the following actions:
- Personalized academic support for orientation and throughout the study path, including peer tutoring
- Support aimed at facilitating autonomous choices consistent with one’s study and life project
- Organizational support to facilitate accessibility to all services and address administrative and transportation-related issues
- Guidance in identifying the university path that best matches students’ needs and expectations in relation to the opportunities offered by the University
Support Services
Support services provided by the Inclusion System for students with disabilities and SLD include:
- Personalized academic tutoring for study support, assistance in attending lectures, retrieving materials, preparing for exams, and writing papers and theses
- Compensatory tools and dispensatory measures, agreed upon with lecturers to facilitate study and assessment
- Access to technological tools, such as spell-checkers, reading and writing support devices, and text-to-speech software
- Specific services for disabilities
Beneficiaries
Interventions and services are addressed to students enrolled in the University’s Degree Programs who have:
- a certified disability rating of 66% or higher
- certification under Law 104/92, Article 3, paragraph 1 or paragraph 3
- certification relating to Specific Learning Disorders (SLD)
For students with other special educational needs, orientation and study support measures may be activated.

Key Roles Involved
Roma Tre’s Inclusion System relies on several dedicated roles and services:
- Delegate of the Rector for Disability, Specific Learning Disorders, and Inclusion Support: Prof. Barbara De Angelis.
She coordinates, monitors, and supports all-inclusive initiatives, promoting synergies both within and outside the University. - Director of Directorate 7 of the University: Dr. Paolo Cursi.
He performs planning, management, coordination and oversight functions to ensure support for the implementation of activities related to disability, SLD and inclusion. - Office for Students with Disabilities and SLD: provides and coordinates services to facilitate university attendance according to each student’s specific needs.

They coordinate tutors, support students, and mediate relations with other faculty members.
