A strategic commitment to global equity
Development for cooperation is a strategic pillar of Roma Tre University. Far from being a peripheral activity, it is a core expression of our academic mission: an engine of social responsibility, international dialogue, and knowledge sharing. With steady institutional investment and a dedicated management infrastructure, Roma Tre has built a robust and dynamic model of cooperation that links education, applied research and community empowerment.
In 2024, a major institutional effort led to the creation of a unified framework for planning, formalising, and monitoring international cooperation activities. This new infrastructure ensures procedural clarity, legal compliance and administrative transparency, strengthening our ability to operate effectively in diverse, multilingual, and inter-institutional settings.
We see development cooperation as one of the most advanced forms of international engagement within the university’s Third Mission. It promotes the social value of academic knowledge, nurtures equitable partnerships, and responds directly to global challenges.
Thanks to the support of the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation (AICS), the Directorate-General for Development Cooperation (DGCS), and the European programme EuropeAid, Roma Tre University implemented a wide range of multi-year projects in complex and strategic international contexts.
