Roma Tre University has been engaged for several years both to reduce the use of plastic and to raise awareness within its academic community through the campaign “Roma3noplastic” which aims to act upstream of the plastic pollution problem. Roma Tre has purchased 36.000 stainless steel thermal bottles with the Roma Tre logo and during 2024 were delivered to students and to staff free of charge the last 550 bottles of the supply. Another supply of over 20.000 bottles is planned for the year 2025.
To further discourage the use of single-use plastic bottles, the University provided drinking water dispensers for students and staff. There are 28 water dispensers throughout all University campuses and thanks to these, 787463 Liters of water were dispensed in 2024. This resulted in a saving of 1.500.000 plastic bottles corresponding to approximately 25 tons of plastic not introduced in the environment and allowed a saving of about 42,5 tons of Co2.
Each student will receive a personal voucher via email, which can be used only once within one month from the date of issuance, allowing them to collect the water bottle at the location on Via Ostiense 149. It is not necessary to print the voucher; it is sufficient to show it on your mobile phone at one of the collection points. You can check in real time the collection points and the availability of Link identifier #identifier__46975-1water bottles
