Our University, as a public service institution whose purpose is the promotion and production of knowledge through the three pillars of teaching, research and “outreach” (cultural and social mission, as well as support for innovation and technology transfer), has always been committed to sustainability actions.
A set of qualitative and quantitative indicators has been developed to measure the degree of achievement of sustainability objectives in teaching, research and outreach activities. After appointing the Rector’s Delegate for Environmental Sustainability, Prof. Paola Marrone, as the University’s representative within the RUS and after establishing the “Roma Tre Sustainable” Working Group, the University also established, in April 2025, the “Sustainability Report” sub-working Group. Its purpose is to identify methodologies and reporting standards capable of adequately measuring, representing and communicating the numerous and significant sustainable activities carried out by the University.
We are aware that this journey has only just begun; for the future, we foresee substantial improvements especially in terms of materiality analysis of the topics to be reported and the expansion of the range of quantitative indicators to be presented. We are also confident that the concreteness of the actions implemented by our University to make sustainability a pillar of its strategy and identity will make this path fruitful and capable of delivering distinctive results.
