Enrolment procedures
Choosing your future studies might be challenging! We are sure that with the support and assistance of our Orientation Office and your strong will the right decision will be made. After deciding, it is necessary to go through different steps of the enrolment process making sure that all the documents are ready and accepted. Due to this, we have created this section, where you will find all the information needed to guide you through the enrolment process.
Make sure you meet the requirements for entry and acceptance procedures before you enroll in Bachelor’s, Single Cycle and Master’s degree programs available at Roma Tre.
Enrolment in Bachelor’s Degree Courses
The main deadlines for enrolment and enrolment with a late fee in Bachelor’s degree courses are listed below:

For further information about deadlines for submitting the admission application or exams date, these vary depending on the department, so it is recommended to consult the call for admission of each department.
Enrolment period is over for degree courses with restricted access (i.e. Architecture, Computer Science Engineering and Artificial Intelligence, Languages and cultural-linguistic mediation, Biological Science, Primary teacher education).
Enrolment in Master’s Degree Courses
The main deadlines for assessment of previous career procedure and enrolment in Master’s degree courses are listed below:

For non- EU students applying through Universitaly, enrolment deadline has been set for 15/09/2025.
For the recognition of foreign qualifications, no deadline is set for applying for full academic recognition in order to obtain the corresponding Italian degree.
Before applying
Admission requirements
- If you have just completed high school: you can enrol in a bachelor’s degree (3 years) or in a single cycle degree (5 or 6 years, Law, Architecture, Medicine)
If you already have a bachelor’s degree: you can enrol in a master’s degree (2 years).
Degree programs may be with:
- open access no admission cap is set: these programs include an assessment test according to the terms specified in the admission notice, but enrolment is permitted regardless of the outcome
- restricted access: these programs require a mandatory and selective admission test. The Admission Notice also indicates the number of places reserved for non-EU citizens residing abroad and for Chinese citizens participating in the Marco Polo program. After the test a specific ranking list for non-EU candidates residing abroad applying for a study visa is prepared.

Pre-enrolment on Universitaly
Mandatory only for non-EU citizens residing abroad who require a study visa. Applications must be submitted online via the Link identifier #identifier__142980-7Universitaly portal by September 15, 2025.
Note: for European and non-European citizens already residing in Italy the admission procedures require the application to be submitted directly to the University both for bachelor’s, single-cycle and master’s degree. It is mandatory to show foreign qualifications and related certifications to the Office for Students with Foreign Qualifications (e-mail: Link identifier #identifier__93496-8segr.stud.titoloestero@uniroma3.it)
Pre-enrolment on GOMP
All students, regardless of nationality, must register on the GOMP portal Link identifier #identifier__68337-9Students personal account
Students must enter the following data:
- personal data: click on “Dati Personali” and fill in all required fields, including uploading a copy of passport and/or residence permit.
- educational qualifications: click on “Immatricolazioni e test d’ingresso → Corsi di laurea triennali e ciclo unico → Titoli di accesso dichiarati” and upload the required documents proving eligibility either for the Bachelor’s or single-cycle Degrees or Master’s Degree. The same documents must be uploaded to both in Universitaly and GOMP.
Student must upload all the required documents both on Universitaly and GOMP. The Student Affairs Office will verify the documents: if they are complete, authentic, and valid, the pre-enrolment on Universitaly will be approved.
Schooling Requirements and Required Documentation
- If you have just completed high school, you can enrol in a 1st cycle programme (bachelor level, 3 years), or in a single-cycle program, to be admitted to a bachelor’s degree program (first cycle), at least 12 years of schooling are required. If the qualification was awarded after a school period shorter than 12 years and for the documents to be submitted, please refer to the webpage mentioned below
- Italian language skills: non-EU citizens residing abroad applying for a study visa must pass an Italian language proficiency test (minimum B2 level) to be admitted to a degree program. For information regarding reservation, dates and exemptions from the Italian language test, please refer to the webpage mentioned below

Admission to single cycle and master’s degree with course abbreviation for completed degree and for partial foreign academic studies (no final degree obtained)
Students requesting evaluation of previous studies at a foreign university for the purpose of course abbreviation or recognition of previously passed university exams must consult the Link identifier #identifier__9898-11How to apply guide for further information on required documents for course abbreviation. The documents uploaded on GOMP must be the same as those uploaded to Universitaly.
Apply for your student visa
Once the University validates online your application with all the evaluation details required by the competent Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy visit Link identifier #identifier__122172-12https://vistoperitalia.esteri.it/home/en to start your visa application.
Fill in the section “Visa” of the online form: once your request is approved by the Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy for the visa, you have to take an appointment and go to the Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy to obtain your visa and once they have completed the necessary checks, they issue a” type D visa” for university enrollment purposes confirming the completion of the procedure on the Universitaly portal.
Please note that at this stage the validation procedure done by the University does not imply any right to obtain the visa: the decision on visa for study purposes is of exclusive jurisdiction of the competent Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy.
Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy
You need to contact the competent Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy and book an appointment. You should have with you all the required documents in the format indicated by the competent Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy including a copy of your “Pre-enrolment” application as validated by the University.
Request for a permit stay and fiscal code
Within 8 (eight) working days from your arrival in Italy on a type D “national” visa for study (university enrolment), you must make an appointment to apply for a permit of stay (Permesso di soggiorno per motivi di studio) to the local Police Department- Immigration Office desk (Questura - Ufficio stranieri) responsible for the city where you are going to stay.
The fiscal code may be issued by the “Agenzia delle Entrate” or by the competent Italian Diplomatic Consular Mission/Embassy
