DAMS – Studies in Performing Arts

Bachelor’s Degree in DAMS is a three-year programme designed to provide broad and solid knowledge in the fields of arts, music, performing arts, and new media. It is structured into three specialised tracks, each of which focuses on distinct cultural and professional skills, combining theoretical study with practical workshops and opportunities for internships at affiliated institutions.
The Theatre, Music, Dance track emphasises historical-critical and artistic research related to performance arts, as well as social and pedagogical aspects, preparing students for roles in live performance management and cultural event organisation. The Cinema, Television and New Media pathway covers the history, technologies, and critical analysis of film, photography, radio, television, and new media, alongside business organisation skills relevant to audiovisual sectors. The New Professions in Audiovisual Media track prepares students for emerging careers in digital media, film, music, and audiovisual production, focusing on the intersection of visual and acoustic media and the impact of new digital technologies.
Admission to the programme is open, with a compulsory but non-selective entrance assessment. From the first year, students benefit from tutoring support, particularly when planning their studies. The programme also offers opportunities for exams or research periods abroad through the Erasmus+ programme and other international mobility initiatives.
Graduates are equipped with a versatile education to pursue careers as scholars, critics, cultural organisers, producers of performances or audiovisual products, and cultural entrepreneurs in the entertainment and media sectors. The course also prepares students for related Master’s degrees and first-level Master’s programmes. The degree is completed by producing and defending a final thesis under the guidance of a faculty supervisor.
