Content and Format of the Exam

The admission test for the assessment of the initial knowledge, which lasts 45 minutes, has the purpose to assess basic knowledge in the areas of logical-mathematical and reading comprehension. It consists of 30 multiple-choice questions.

The test is held online via a dedicated platform. Instructions for accessing the platform will be promptly published on the Student Portal

The general rules for the assessment test are provided in Article 5 of the Admission Notice.

Additional Learning Requirements (OFA)

A failing score (if the score is below 3) entails the assignment of additional learning requirements (OFAs).
If Additional Learning Requirements are assigned, the acquisition of the required competencies will be verified during the first year. These requirements will be considered fulfilled if one of the following conditions is met:

  • attendance of the Mathematics Pre-course, which will be held in person during September 2025, also available through the open-access MOOC platform (Mathematics Pre-course of the Department of Economics), with assessment through a final test during the 2025/2026 academic year;
  • Passing the General Mathematics exam.

The Mathematics Pre-course, which is strongly recommended for all prospective students, aims to provide the fundamental mathematical tools and concepts (in terms of knowledge and skills) for more effective participation in first-year academic activities. The course will take place starting from September 10, 2025. More information regarding the schedule and delivery methods of the pre-course will be published by the first week of September 2025 on the Department website.

Exam Outcome

The result of the test is determined based on the following scoring system:

  • Correct answer: +1
  • Incorrect answer: –0.25
  • Unanswered question: 0

Alternative Accepted Tests - TOLC

The Department recognizes the following TOLC tests as valid for admission to the degree programs: TOLC-E, TOLC-I, and TOLC-S, taken anywhere starting from January 1, 2025.

To identify any Additional Learning Requirements (OFA), the result of the TOLC test will be considered insufficient if the total score is below 3.

Applicants do not need to submit any documentation regarding the TOLC test, as the university will automatically retrieve the results. They may proceed directly with enrolment during the period indicated in Section A, by registering for online services as specified in Article 1 – General Provisions of the Admission Notice.

Enrollment must be completed according to the deadlines specified in Article 4 of the Admission Notice.
