Administrations and public policies
The Master’s Degree in Administrations and public policies (LM-63) at Roma Tre University offers advanced academic training for students aiming to work in or with public institutions at national, regional, or international levels. The programme builds on a broad, multidisciplinary foundation and addresses the increasing complexity of public governance and policy design. It examines both the European and national dimensions of public action, including the regulatory and institutional frameworks that shape public decision-making and the role of public service organisations in diverse territorial contexts.
The two-year programme combines core and specialised coursework in law, economics, political science, statistics, sociology and public management. Students follow a common curriculum in the first year and then choose between two tracks in the second year: one focusing on European governance and funding procedures, the other on decentralisation and local public service coordination. The degree includes seminars, internships, and applied laboratories dedicated to legal drafting, administrative data analysis, technical language, and European project simulation. A final thesis (15 ECTS) is required and may draw on the student’s internship experience. Guidance is provided throughout by an academic tutor.
Graduates are qualified to assume roles of responsibility in public administrations, public service companies, regulatory bodies, consultancy firms, and organisations interacting with government institutions. They may work in areas such as policy planning and evaluation, administrative management, human resource governance, public procurement, and institutional communication. The degree also allows access to doctoral programmes and second-level Master’s degrees. Admission is subject to curricular requirements and an individual assessment of academic background, with further details specified in the official course regulations.
