How to enroll in a Master’s degree

Before the enrolment procedures, it is essential to read the Link identifier #identifier__187583-1admission notice (Italian version), which contains complete and detailed information on admission requirements.

Admission Requirements

Degree qualification: bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, a degree obtained under the Ministerial Decree 509/99 or a foreign qualification considered equivalent.

Entitled to submit application for assessment of previous academic career:

  • those who already hold the required academic qualification for admission
  • those currently enrolled in a bachelor’s degree program at Roma Tre or another university and expect to graduate by March 2026, except for the Departments of Architecture and Business Administration, as specified in the relevant annexes of the Admission notice.

A separate application must be submitted for each master’s degree program of interest.
For the master’s degree programs of the Department of Architecture, a single application must be submitted, indicating the chosen program(s) in order of preference.

Applicants with a foreign qualification

Enrolment Procedure

The entire enrolment procedure is carried out online, starting from this page on the Smart Edu Roma Tre platform:  Link identifier #identifier__167777-5new student registration

Application submission for assessment of previous academic career

Supplementary period for assessment of previous academic career

A supplementary submission period is available, subject to an additional fee of €60 for each request submitted after the regular deadline, and in any case no later than December 15, 2025. This fee will be charged at the time of submission, regardless of the outcome of the evaluation.
This option is not available for the master’s degree programs offered by the Department of Architecture.

For the Architecture degree program only, the application must be submitted by following this path:
Enrolments and Admission Tests > Master’s Degree Programs > Admission Competitions and Admission Tests for Master’s Degrees.

Outcome of the Assessment Request

To know the outcome for the assessment of previous academic career please refer to the selected degree program where it will be published and also sent via email to the address provided during online registration.

The possible outcomes are:

a) Admitted – You may proceed immediately with enrollment.
b) Not admitted – Due to missing requirements.
c) Conditionally admitted – Pending degree completion or additional curricular requirements.

For cases b and c, contact the department’s academic office for more details.

Any missing curricular requirements must be completed before enrolment, by registering for individual courses recognized as relevant and passing the related exams. Details on procedures and deadlines are available on the Student Portal.

Note: the cost of individual courses at Roma Tre will be deducted from the first-year tuition fees of the master’s degree program.

 

Enrolment

Enrolment is completed online and is considered valid only upon payment of the first installment of tuition fees by the deadlines specified in the annexes.

Conditionally admitted students may attend classes but can take exams only after completing enrolment.

For the programs in Biodiversity and Environmental Protection and Molecular, Cellular and Health Biology, conditionally admitted students may only attend lectures, not lab activities.

Students with a degree from another university must upload the following documents via their personal account to finalize enrolment (failing to do so will block academic progress):

  • Signed and scanned enrollment application
  • Passport-size photo
  • Valid ID (scanned copy)
  • For non-EU citizens: residence permit or visa

Enrolment for students with a foreign degree will be granted only after the required academic qualification has been successfully verified

 

Department of Law

Skills

Applicants must meet specific minimum curricular requirements as indicated in art. 3 of the Academic regulation for each master's degree course 2025/26 which must be carefully reviewed before proceeding with the application  

Admission to the program is subject to meeting the requirements outlined in Article 3 of the master's degree Academic Regulations and to passing an assessment of the adequacy of personal preparation, which will be conducted through an individual interview. 

The master’s degree program in Legal Sciences for New Technologies offers a choice between two study paths.: Governo dei dati e intelligenza artificiale (in Italian) e Law, Technologies and Society (in English). 

 

Admission Requirements 

For admission, one of the following requirements must be met: 

  • Possess a degree as specified in the general section of this announcement, within the degree classes indicated in Article 3 of the Academic Regulations. 
  • Possess a degree, as specified in the general section of this announcement, in any other degree classes, but have also earned at least 48 ECTS credits within at least two of the disciplinary areas indicated in Article 3 of the Academic Regulations. This requirement can be fulfilled by demonstrating completion of the relevant exams during the three-year degree program or by acquiring them through individual courses, as indicated in general section  of this announcement. 

Furthermore, to access the English-language study path Law, Technologies and Society, in addition to the above admission requirements, possession of an English language proficiency certification at a level no lower than B2 is also required. 

Personal preparation assessment

An assessment of personal preparation will be conducted through an individual online interview. 

The exact date and time of the interview, as well as the individual access link, will be communicated to candidates via e-mail sent to the address provided during the registration for online services with at least 7 days' notice.
