Mathematics
The Master’s Degree in Mathematics at Roma Tre University provides advanced academic training across a wide range of theoretical and applied disciplines. The programme supports a personalised study path, allowing students to focus on algebra, geometry, mathematical analysis, logic, numerical methods, mathematical physics, or theoretical computer science. Dedicated training pathways are also available for those interested in scientific communication or teaching, including teaching internships in schools. The course combines academic rigour with flexibility, equipping students with specialised skills for both research and professional careers.
The curriculum is structured around three main tracks: Theoretical Mathematics, Applied and Modelling Mathematics, and Teaching and Scientific Communication. All students undertake core modules in advanced mathematics and ICT, as well as a curricular internship (minimum 7 ECTS) in settings such as schools, research centres, or private companies. The programme includes foreign language training and offers international mobility opportunities, including a double degree with Aix-Marseille Université leading to both the Italian qualification and the French "Master de Mathématiques et Applications". Academic supervision ensures coherence and depth across all study plans.
Graduates are qualified to pursue careers in scientific research, education, publishing, data analysis, finance, and technology. They are also well prepared for doctoral study in mathematics and related fields such as physics, engineering, computer science, and economics. Those enrolled in the teaching track acquire specific competencies required for secondary education, in accordance with national regulations. The programme concludes with the defence of an original research thesis, developed independently and presented during a seminar. Admission is based on possession of a relevant undergraduate degree and fulfilment of curricular prerequisites.
