Pharmacy (Single Cycle Degree – 5 years)
The Single-Cycle Master’s Degree in Pharmacy at Roma Tre University is a five-year programme that prepares students for professional practice in all areas related to medicines, health products, and pharmaceutical services. The course offers a multidisciplinary education that combines chemistry, biology, pharmacology, and pharmaceutical technology with hands-on laboratory work and applied learning. Students develop the expertise required for the development, formulation, production, and safe use of medicinal products and medical devices.
The curriculum integrates scientific training with modules in pharmaceutical legislation, healthcare economics, patient communication, and the use of digital tools. A mandatory professional internship in a community or hospital pharmacy provides practical experience and allows students to apply their knowledge in clinical settings. The programme culminates in a comprehensive final examination, which includes a research thesis and a practical professional assessment, in accordance with national regulations.
Graduates are qualified to practise as pharmacists in Italy and across the European Union, following registration with the national professional board. They may pursue careers in hospital and community pharmacies, the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries, research centres, and regulatory agencies. The degree also supports progression to doctoral studies, specialisation schools, or second-level Master’s programmes. The qualification offers broad opportunities in healthcare, scientific consultancy, and pharmaceutical management at both national and international levels.
