International Relations

The Master’s Degree in International Relations at Roma Tre University offers advanced interdisciplinary training for students seeking to understand and address global challenges through the study of international political, legal, economic and social dynamics. The programme is structured around three main tracks: “International Political Studies”, focusing on global power dynamics and policy-making; “European Studies”, examining the structure and evolution of the European Union and its institutions; and “Digital Society”, which analyses the impact of digital transformation on international relations. A fourth track leads to a double degree with the Maestría en Relaciones Internacionales at Universidad de Belgrano (Argentina), providing students with a comprehensive education in international studies with a focus on Latin America.

The curriculum integrates legal, economic, political and historical disciplines, along with foreign language study and professional skills development. Teaching is supported by seminars, workshops, study trips, and visits from international scholars and practitioners. Emphasis is placed on developing theoretical insight, analytical rigour, and operational competence to address the complexity of international institutions, diplomacy, conflict management, economic governance and global digital processes. The final degree project consists of an original thesis, supported by academic supervision and often connected to internship or research experiences.

Graduates are prepared for careers in diplomacy, intergovernmental and non-governmental organisations, European institutions, multinational corporations, public administrations and research centres. Specific professional profiles include diplomatic and consular officers, EU officials, international NGO managers, private sector analysts in international affairs, and specialists in digital governance. Admission is based on an undergraduate degree and the assessment of prior academic background in political and social sciences, law, economics, history and languages. The degree also provides access to doctoral programmes and further specialised training.
