Sustainability Report

Our university, as a public institution whose purpose is the promotion and production of knowledge—pursued through its three fundamental pillars of teaching, research and “third mission” activities (cultural and social engagement as well as support for innovation and technology transfer)— has always been strongly oriented toward sustainability.

A series of qualitative and quantitative indicators has therefore been developed to measure the extent to which sustainability objectives are being achieved across teaching, research and third mission activities. After appointing the Rector’s Delegate for Environmental Sustainability, Prof. Paola Marrone, as its representative within the RUS network and establishing the Roma Tre Sustainable Working Group, the University also set up, in April 2025, the “ Sustainability Report” Subgroup. The purpose of this subgroup is to identify appropriate methodologies and reporting standards that can effectively measure, represent and communicate the numerous and significant sustainability-related activities carried out by the University.

We are aware that this journey has only just begun; in the future, we expect substantial improvements, especially in terms of assessing the materiality of the topics to be reported and expanding the range of quantitative indicators included. We are likewise convinced that the concrete actions undertaken by our University to make sustainability a key element of its strategy and identity will make this path fruitful and capable of producing distinctive results.
