Teaching, Research and Environmental Sustainability Practices
The University’s commitment to environmental sustainability is expressed through policies, projects and practices aimed at reducing the impact of its activities and promoting a widespread environmental culture. University focuses on three main areas:
- Sustainable management of natural resources, energy efficiency, reduction of consumption, monitoring of emissions, waste management and actions oriented toward climate neutrality;
- Integration of environmental topics into degree programs, cross-disciplinary courses, workshops and training activities for students and staff;
- Scientific output and research projects dedicated to climate change, energy, circular economy, biodiversity and ecosystem protection.
Sustainability

Teaching
Roma Tre University promotes an educational approach that is attentive to sustainability issues, integrating the objectives of the 2030 Agenda into its academic courses. The University has carried out an extensive Link identifier #identifier__76758-8survey of courses related to sustainability, identifying several modules connected to at least one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals.
To support study and in-depth exploration, the University Library System provides a Link identifier #identifier__71374-9dedicated bibliographic selection on sustainability, offering selected resources to guide students in exploring the environmental social, and economic dimensions of the 2030 Agenda.
A central element of the teaching activities is the Link identifier #identifier__137528-10Zero Lesson for Sustainability, a multidisciplinary program open to the entire student community. The course, organized into thematic modules and taught by professors from all Departments, covers topics such as sustainable cities, climate change, sustainable mobility, responsible consumption models and food security, offering an initial orientation to the global challenges of sustainable development.
Research
Research is among the fundamental missions of Roma Tre University and represents a driving force for scientific, cultural and social innovation.
The University confirms the central role of this strategic function by updating its development plans in response to emerging challenges at national and international levels.
