PhD Programmes
Understanding PhDs in Italy
A PhD is the highest academic degree awarded by Italian universities, achieved after a three-year programme of study and research. Admission is based on a call for applications and is open to those holding a Master’s degree or equivalent Single Cycle Degree. There are no age or nationality restrictions, provided that the foreign qualifications are recognised as equivalent to Italian degrees.
