Computer Science Engineering and Artificial Intelligence

The Bachelor's Degree Programme in Computer Engineering and Artificial Intelligence prepares professionals with the scientific and technological skills to analyse, design, implement, and manage complex systems in computer engineering and AI. It also includes core topics in automation and management engineering, with emphasis on system-level and computing aspects. The three-year structure begins with a foundation in mathematics, physics, and computer science; the second year covers core subjects in computer science, automation, and related fields; and the third year provides advanced content and specialisation in one of four tracks: Information Systems, Artificial Intelligence, Management, and Automation and Robotics. Each track includes practical training and a mandatory internship with partner companies or institutions.

Admission to the programme is subject to limited enrolment. Applicants must submit an online application within the specified deadlines and take an entrance assessment to verify the required foundational knowledge. Students admitted without a sufficient score will be assigned Additional Learning Requirements (OFA), which can be addressed through tutoring or remedial courses, either in person or via the online platform “Thinking of Studying Engineering”. Teaching takes place on a well-equipped and accessible campus in Rome, with modern classrooms, laboratories, a library, study areas, and nearby university amenities. Close interaction between students and teaching staff is encouraged through shared facilities.

International mobility is actively promoted through Erasmus programmes and internship opportunities at foreign companies, universities, or research institutions. The degree belongs to Class L-8 (Information Engineering) and allows graduates to register with the Order of Engineers (Section B, Information Sector) after passing the State Exam. Graduates are well-prepared for further studies in computer engineering, artificial intelligence, management, automation, or robotics. Career opportunities span software and IT industries, telecommunications, public administration, manufacturing, logistics, finance, intelligent systems, automation, and project management in both national and international contexts.
