Psychological Support

Psychological Support is a service offered by Roma Tre University aimed at students who need help dealing with interpersonal or academic issues that may have consequences on their academic progress.

Its purpose is to promote well-being with a positive impact not only on the individual but also on the university system by providing psychological guidance to help overcome difficult moments.

For this purpose, a space for listening and reflection is offered. In this space, students meet with a psychologist or psychotherapist to analyze and understand together the origin and development of interpersonal or academic difficulties, considering themes such as social anxiety, moments of discouragement, procrastination or time‑management problems and delays in completing studies.

Students are supported in identifying resources and strategies to cope with personal discomfort and difficult moments and are helped in developing autonomous abilities for decision‑making, choice and adaptation.

An experienced team of psychologists and psychotherapists works within the service, specializing in the assessment and treatment of psychological adjustment issues that may arise during academic life.

It is important to remember that the service does not provide medical or psychiatric examinations, does not prescribe medication, nor can it offer psychiatric emergency intervention. The service is exclusively intended to guide individuals toward better management of psychological discomfort and toward increased well‑being and personal growth.

Students who access the service are entitled to a free cycle of three sessions along with the completion of questionnaires based on individual needs and concerns. At the end of these sessions, access to therapeutic groups or short‑term psychotherapy cycles may be proposed, both free of charge.

If further evaluation is needed and if deemed necessary by the psychotherapist, students may be advised to contact specialists or healthcare centers where they can continue their therapeutic path (psychiatric, psychotherapeutic, rehabilitative).

Scheduled appointments take place in full confidentiality. The contents shared during the sessions are protected by professional confidentiality and disclosed only within the care team or, should real need arise only with the student’s consent with designated local mental‑health services.

The service falls within the functions of Directorate 7.

Access to the service is by appointment, by sending  an email to Link identifier #identifier__875-1servizio.supporto.psicologico@uniroma3.it.

Appointments will be arranged with the staff and scheduled Monday through Friday at the university premises in Via Ostiense 159.

Currently, the waiting time for an appointment is about one month.

Please note that:

  • students requesting the service must use only their institutional email address
  • any student who is unable to attend a scheduled appointment must cancel at least 48 hours in advance by sending a cancellation email. This will allow others to access the service with the required notice
  • if a student fails to give the necessary notice of cancellation twice, he/she may still receive a later appointment but only after all previously scheduled appointments for other students have been completed.
