FIS 3, a Success for Roma Tre
The FIS 3 Call, whose results were recently announced by the Ministry, allocates €475 million to fund research projects of high scientific value, carried out by emerging researchers (Starting Grants), mid-career researchers (Consolidator Grants) and established researchers (Advanced Grants). Its main purpose is to promote the development of fundamental research according to well-established practices at European level, following the model of the European Research Council (ERC).
Out of 86 project proposals submitted, Roma Tre University has been awarded more than € 8.7 million for 6 funded projects, with an additional project deemed eligible that may be activated in the event of a further funding allocation through the ranking lists.
In the PE (Physical Sciences and Engineering) sector, funding was awarded to Valerio Acocella (Earth System Science – Advanced Grant), Filiberto Bilotti (Systems and Communication Engineering – Advanced Grant), Giorgio Cipolloni (Mathematics – Starting Grant), Cristoforo Demartino (Products and Processes Engineering – Consolidator Grant) and Alfredo Sciortino (Condensed Matter Physics – Starting Grant).
In the SH (Social Sciences and Humanities) sector, Angelapia Massaro (The Human Mind and Its Complexity – Starting Grant) was admitted for funding.
