Il corso affronterà aspetti teorici e pratico-applicativi riferiti a studi regionali, pianificazione territoriale, economia e struttura sociale urbana, trasformazioni nel breve e lungo periodo. La parte teorica si articolerà in due filoni: (1) introduzione di concetti base quali: urbanistica, economia urbana, studi regionali, analisi e pianificazione territoriale, rapporto tra memoria e progetto e (2) analisi della qualità dello spazio urbano e delle sue determinanti. La componente applicativa avrà lo scopo di illustrare l’utilizzo dei dati statistici e dei sistemi informativi geografici (GIS) nell’analisi territoriale delle differenti componenti di qualità urbana nell’area di studio del laboratorio.

The economics module focuses on the relation between ethics, economics, and business, both in economic analysis and management. It is articuletad into three aspects: First, economics necessarily involves ethics, and economists and managers cannot engage in economic analysis and decision-making without making value judgments. Second, individuals have ethical values that shape their behaviour and affect what happens in the economy as a result of their interactions. Third, ethical values are involved in evaluating how an economy is doing and in making and appraising business decisions.
The lessons are interactive and will include the theoretical perspective, case studies and project work.
