The course offers students the opportunity to understand the mechanisms that led to the origin of European colonial empires in the early modern age, their functions and how these empires contributed to the first forms of globalization of the early modern world.

L’insegnamento offre alle studentesse e agli studenti l’opportunità di comprendere i meccanismi che hanno portato alla nascita degli imperi coloniali europei nell’età moderna, le loro funzioni e il modo in cui tali imperi hanno contribuito alle prime forme di globalizzazione del mondo moderno.
