Programma
Esploreremo le origini dell'avvento dei combustibili di origine fossile con l'emergere dell'era del carbone, passando per l'era degli idrocarburi, fino alle più recenti tendenze verso le energie da fonte rinnovabile. Questo sarà fatto analizzando le strategie delle grandi potenze, i dibattiti politici e intellettuali sulle fonti energetiche, l'espansione del fordismo e del consumismo, il ruolo delle multinazionali del petrolio, le pressioni per la decolonizzazione e l'emergere del dibattito ambientalista dagli anni Settanta fino al più recente dibattito sul l'"Antropocene" e la "decarbonizzazione".Concetti come "maledizione delle risorse", "estrattivismo", "resource curse", "limiti della crescita", "picco del petrolio", "sviluppo sostenibile", saranno discussi e inquadrati nella letteratura accademica (ed eventualmente materiale d'archivio), aggiornati con immagini e documentari.

Gli studenti potrebbero essere indirizzati dal docente a discutere in classe delle letture assegnate come studio individuale. Ogni studente è tenuto a lavorare sulle letture e documenti forniti dal docente per poter partecipare attivamente alle discussioni in classe.Modalità Frequenza

- Ogni studente dovrà fare una presentazione in classe. - Ogni studente preparerà per la fine del corso un saggio (2500 parole) che potrebbe, eventualmente, essere scritto anche sullo stesso argomento della sua presentazione in classe. - L'esame finale sarà scritto. Composizione del voto finale: Partecipazione e presentazione in casse: 25% Saggio: 25% Esame scritto finale: 50% Totale: 100%
