The Course is focused on the investment banking business as a group of services offered to corporate and institutional clients. The Course objective is the analysis of the main business areas under different points of view: deal structuring, processes followed during the transactions and roles played by the intermediary, the impact on the performance of the bank.

The Course aims to provide an overview of the role and the main activities carried out by the banks in the investment banking business; the influence of the regulation; the organizational and management aspects; the technical characteristics and economic profiles of the corporate finance transactions; the definition, measurement and management of the typical risks.

Type of delivery of the course

The Course program includes traditional classroom lessons and seminars. In the case of an extension of the state of health emergency due to COVID-19, all the provisions that regulate the methods of carrying out the educational activities will be implemented. In particular, lectures and seminars will be held online on the platforms made available by the University. Moreover, it is advisable to regularly check the institutional information channels carried out by the University in order to be aware of the provisions in force.

Attendance

Attendance in the Course is recommended but not mandatory.

Type of evaluation

An oral examination and two (optional) written tests, in the middle and at the end of the Course. The written tests includes open-answer questions and multiple choice tests. The oral and written examinations are used to evaluate the degree of knowledge of the syllabus, the critical judgment capacity as well as the ability to use technical language.
