20710321 - SEMANTICA E PRAGMATICA

The course aims to provide the students with an introduction to semantics and pragmatics as independent levels of analysis and with their interfaces. Basic notions of syntax will be introduced to allow students to have a clear idea of the interaction between the levels. At the end of the course students will be able to understand and analyze words, sentences and utterances on the basis of the acquisition of the theoretical concepts.

Programme

Basic notions on syntax and sentence semantics, definitions of semantics, word semantics, definition of pragmatics, linguistic and situational context, information structure, speech acts, presuppositions and implicatures.
