Programme

The course aims to show students the artistic and literary reworking of political violence in Argentina during the years of military dictatorship (1976-1983), as presented in some recent artistic products (novels, plays, photographic exhibitions). In a perspective that places Argentinian authoritarianism within a broader Latin American framework, the works will be analyzed through tools and methodologies related to Trauma Studies and testimonial literature.
In a first phase, the general concepts will be presented and the historical context reconstructed. Subsequently, the artistic products in the program will be analyzed.
