Giorgio Resta

prof. RestaGiorgio Resta Deputy Rector of Roma Tre University since 13 July 2022, delegate for the coordination of internationalisation activities, Full Professor in Comparative Private Law (IUS/02) he also teaches Comparative Law, European and Comparative Data Law. Since 21 November 2018 he is Deputy Head of the Department of Law and he coordinates the international PhD in “Law and Social Change”: the Challenges of Transnational Regulation”. He is a member of the Board of Governors of the Italian Association in Comparative Law (https://www.dirittocomparato.org/ ), associate member of the “Académie internationale de droit compare” (https://aidc-iacl.org), honorary member of the “Italian Experts in Civil Law” (https://www.civilistiitaliani.eu), member of the “European Law Institute” and member of the Association “Il Mulino”. He takes part in the Board of Trustees of the Foundation “Centro di Iniziativa Giuridica Piero Calamandrei” and in the Foundation “Lelio e Lisli Basso”. He is a lawyer, enrolee in the Special Register of University Professors.

After obtaining a PhD qualification in Private Law at the University of Pisa (1999), he has deepened his knowledge in the United States (Yale; Duke), in Germany ( by scholarships awarded by Max Planck Institut of Munich and Hamburg) and in Canada (scholarship awarded by the Canadian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. He taught, as Visiting Professor, at the McGill Law School (2010-2011; 2015), École des hautes études en sciences sociales (2009, 2010, 2013), University of Nagoya (JP, 2014, 2018), IDP of Brasilia (remotely,2021). Co-director of some of the most important Italian legal journals, he has a scientific production of over 150 works focused on the junction between public and private Law, particularly on the rule of technologies, the legal development of the individual, the comparison mode as well as on the relation between law and other areas of knowledge.
