The course offers students the opportunity to experience an introduction to the yard's own issues, with specific variation on the restoration site. Compatibly with the times and with the methods of teaching, addressing various application themes, observin, even on the field during inspections and visits by professionals and specialist technicians, the joints; They discuss and analyze some of the possible solutions to their problems of professional practice.

Programme

The course aims to introduce the knowledge of restoration techniques through analysis of operating methods and direct knowledge of sites. Lectures consist mainly in analyzing interventions with particular regard to technical decisions, to implications they pose on site and on success of the work. Compatibly with the availability of opportunities, it is expected to make visits to restoration sites and to realize practical experiences.

Type of delivery of the course

The course is structured with lectures, practical exercises and visits. During lessons are discussed the main topics related to the application on site of architectural restoration techniques, with reference to elements and material already dealt during previous courses; these lectures alternate descriptive communications of singular cases with discussions about operating techniques, even with the help of experts. Practical training is aimed at bringing students closer to applied aspects of site operations and concerns both the material knowledge and the handling of materials proper to the restoration site; moreover are outlined fundamentals of site logistics and organization. The visits, subject to the availability of Institutions or Hosts entitled of construction sites, allow students to experience directly restoration sites or connected manufacturing.

Type of evaluation

Students' preparation will be assessed during the course through periodic interviews on topics under study; during the exam, each student must present his / her own elaboration on one of the topics dealt with in the course or in the visits, and has to sustain an interview on the topics dealt with. If necessary the evaluation will be assessed through a video call with Skype.
