For this reason, the workshop will be divided into several phases. The first phase will be dedicated to reading and analyzing the context and will include a series of lessons aimed, on the one hand, at describing the project site and, on the other, at presenting similar case studies, with the aim of exploring the literature and design practices related to architectural intervention in historical and archaeological contexts. The second phase will be dedicated to the development of the design exercise.

Programme
The project planned by the workshop aims to enhance, improve the usability and functionality of some crucial nodes of the Metropolitan Archaeological Center (CArMe), crossed by Via dei Fori Imperiali, in order to make its current image more intelligible and encourage its use by citizens, resolving the difference in level that separates the contemporary city from the ancient ones. To tackle this exercise, it will be necessary to understand the topographical nature of the Metropolitan Archaeological Center, starting from an observation of the morphology of the site; the relationship between alluvial valleys and tuffaceous banks at the summit, between the Tiber and the Quirinal, Viminal, Palatine, and Capitoline hills; and the identification of large monumental enclosures and ancient residential districts. For this reason, the workshop will be divided into several phases.
