The course of Merci e Certificazioni di Qualità (Goods and Quality Certifications) aims to provide students with an overview of the complex area of goods, through the analysis of their characterization and classification at international, European and national level.
These issues will initially be dealt with in a wide general way, to then be deepened in three main topics (agri-food, energy and textiles).
Lessons will be integrated with seminars and case-studies presented by experts.

Programme

-Module 1: RESOURCES, RAW MATERIALS, DEMATERIALIZATION Classifications of goods; international exchange of goods , European Union and Customs Regulations, destination and customs procedures, introduction to the quality of goods and accreditation systems)
- Module 2: AGRI-FOOD SECTOR (European agri-food policies, agri-food sector: italian production and consumption, agri-food chain; product traceability, labeling: evolution of legislation, quality and safety in the food sector: HACCP, name and brands: “typical “ products, made in Italy products, PAC and Fischer Reform)
- Module 3: TEXTILE SECTOR (Italian textile and fashion sector , made in Italy, labeling of textile products: composition and maintenance, mandatory quality certifications: GOTS (textile products from waste); safety of textile goods
-Module 4: ENERGY SECTOR (energy production and sustainability, environmental objectives, mandatory and optional labeling of energy products, environmental management system (ISO 14001)

Type of delivery of the course

Head-on lectures held in the classroom by the lecturer (s); the lessons will eventually be integrated with seminars held by experts coming from companies and institutions; in addition students who attend the lessons are requested to realize a group project which will be evaluated as a parte of the final exam. The lessons are also integrated with online exercises also for the purpose of self-assessment by the students.

Attendance

Class attendance is not mandatory but is extremely useful and thus encouraged. For students who do not attend classes, meetings are scheduled during the reception hours according to the established timetable which is published on the website of the Department of Business Studies, in the teacher's page and in the specific bulletin boards.

Type of evaluation

Evaluation of the achievement of training objectives will carried out by oral examination, added to the assessment of group project; the online exercises carried out during the course are mainly aimed at encouraging students' self-assessment. Different methods of assessment (written test) may be adopted in response to particular needs on the part of the students.
