21210116 - ECONOMICS AND BUSINESS MANAGEMENT

The objectives of the Business Management course are consistent with the general objectives of the Bachelor in Business Economics (CLEGA).
Specifically, the course aims to provide:
- Solid basic knowledge of the organizational structure and its management;
- Concrete skills necessary to support strategic and operational choices;
- Abilities to analyse, interpret and critically read sectorial and environmental dynamics;
- Methodological and analytical skills necessary to select and understand relevant information emerging from the business arena.
At the end of the Course students will know the key concepts for the interpretation of the company's behaviour; they will be able to understand the logic and fundamental tools of its functioning and identify suitable paths of action both at the level of the individual company division/business area and at the level of the overall company structure.

The course analyzes the main characteristics of business management and it is divided into didactic modules.
Themes related to enterprises and entrepreneurial aims (The enterprise and its role; The enterprise and its environment )are studied in depth in the first module. Business strategies and business development paths (Business strategy management; Competitive strategies and market analysis models; business development strategies) are analyzed in the second module. In the third module business functions and business operations management, with reference in particular to management techniques and assessment techniques of business efficiency (Production; Finance; Marketing; Management techniques and applications) are studied in depth.

In addition to two hour face to face lessons three times a week for an overall number of 60 hours, teaching activities include practical exercises, talks delivered by external speakers (mainly managers coming from well-known business realities) and case-study discussions with the aim of outlining the concrete application of the concepts encountered to specific issues and scenarios of interest. The days dedicated to practical exercise activities will be communicated during the lessons

The course attendance is strongly recommended but not mandatory.

Type of evaluation

In relation to the covid 19 pandemic, all written exams are suspended, so we scheduled an oral exam in remote connection with the student. The subject of the colloquium refers to the examination program and has the objective of verifying both theoretical and applicative skills acquired by the student.
