The course is aimed at deepening the issue of social security and welfare state in a dimension that embraces public and private social security, social assistance, unemployment protection, social safety nets and active policies, and also the issue of occupational safety, the social security protection for work accidents and occupational diseases.

Insurance legislation against work accidents and occupational diseases: social security protection and limits on the employer's civil liability; work accident and occupational disease; social security benefits; biological damage.

Social safety nets and income support measures: unemployment benefits; salary supplement payments; protection against the employer’s insolvency; perspective of social safety nets system reforming and the problem of social protection of discontinuous work; the emergence of irregular work. Lectures; seminars. The teaching activities include, in addition to lectures lasting 2 hours three times a week (for a total of 60 hours) and case study discussions, with the aim of illustrating the application of the matters dealt with.Attendance

The final exam consists in an oral interview directly to check the level of learning achieved by students with reference to) to the basic understanding of the regulatory framework; b) illustration capability of institutes with respect to the basis of positive law, theoretical configuration of the same examination as set out in the texts. Questions may cover the entire content of the texts. For the final evaluation of the candidates it’s taken into account both the general language properties and the technical mastery of the concepts and legal terms.
