The course (S.S.D. IUS/01) aims to provide students with a full command of the general system of Sports Law, which is analyzed in consideration of its specific characteristics, both on the theoretical level and on the practical one, and with particular focus to the following aspects: organizazion; work-related dimension; operation of closely related to business activities in such field. The educational objectives prioritize the strengthening of the students’ basic culture by enabling them to expand their opportunities to access the working world. The student is placed in a position to carry out economic, legal, and business activities, including consulting, management, contracting, representation, assitance before sports justice bodies and alternative justice procedures.

The following topics will be primarily addressed during the course: the sports employment contract; the sports intermediary (agent); commercial agreements concerning communication and the exploitation of image rights (including sponsorship, advertising, merchandising, and licensing agreements); other sports-related contracts (including ticketing agreements, the sale of audiovisual broadcasting rights, and ambush marketing); civil liability in sport (general principles; the civil liability of athletes, coaches, teachers and instructors, event organizers, sports facility operators, and the entities and individuals involved in sports activities); sports justice; sports arbitration; and other forms of alternative dispute resolution (ADR).
Additional topics covered by the course include: the subjects of the sports legal system (the IOC, CONI, national and international sports federations, confederations, associated sports disciplines, sports promotion bodies, sports clubs and associations, athletes, and sports support personnel); membership and registration procedures (including those involving minors) and club affiliation; gaming and betting; sport and technology; and doping.

The assessment of the learning takes place through an oral test assessed by the minimum mark of 18/30, corresponding to the basic knowledge of all parts of the program and of the technical language, to the maximum mark of 30/30 with honors, which is equivalent to excellent mastery of the topics, appropriate or excellent property of language, appropriate or excellent analytical ability and practical resolution of legal issues. In order to verify the level of achievement of the indicated educational objectives, attending and non-attending students will have to answer at least three questions asked orally on different topics that are the subject of the program, with reference to the recommended texts and lectures held. teacher profile teaching materials
