Type of delivery of the course

The first part mainly consists of lectures supported by Power Point presentations. Some classes will be hosted by guest lecturers who are leading in this field. The second part will be based on lab work. Students will plan and complete a research project in the field of ethnography, whose topic must be approved by the course leader. Group work will be presented in the classroom according to a deadline established with the teacher. The presentations will also be enhanced by debates in the classroom, in order to encourage an interactive educational environment. In case of an extension of the COVID-19 health emergency, all the procedures that regulate the teaching activities will be applied. In particular, professor will communicate and upload teaching material through the Moodle platform available at the University website and the lessons will be carried out on the Microsoft Teams platform. Furthermore, in case of a prolonged health emergency, it will be possible to carry out laboratory activities involving an ethnography on line.

Type of evaluation

Both attending and non-attending students must pass a written test, which will consist of three open questions, each of them is awarded a mark from one to ten. During the course, attending students have the opportunity to use the research lab. These students will then present the results of their laboratory work in class. This exercise will then be awarded a score of one to three in addition to the exam grade. In case of an extension of the COVID-19health emergency , all the regulations on the assessment methods will be applied. In this case, the exam will be written at a distance through the Microsoft Teams platform. The written test will consist, for both attending and non-attending students, of three questions on the exam texts. The students who participated in the laboratory teaching courses will add the score (from 1 to 3) obtained from the presentation of a project to the mark of the oral exam.
