The teaching aims to provide students
• An introduction to the 2030 Agenda of the United Nations for sustainable development in its unity and general structure
• The analysis of the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
• The critical discussion of the agenda's structure and the links between its various objectives, both in terms of synergies and possible conflicts
• Insights on some Agenda objectives, in connection with the specific interests and / or study plans of the individual students.

At the end of the course, the student will be able to discuss in depth the UN policies on sustainable development

The course is divided into two parts:
• 12-15 conferences on Agenda 2030 and an e-learning podcast by ASviS (Alleanza Italiana per lo Sviluppo Sostenibile)

• a specific part, carried out under the supervision of the teacher, to deepen particular topics or objectives of the Agenda through selected readings and the development of a written paper

Type of delivery of the course

The Course will be held in collaboration with the Master's Program "Environmental and Land Studies - Environmental Humanities." Classes will be held on Fridays from 2:30 to 7:30 p.m., during the period from Feb. 24 to March 31. Classrooms will be: 2:30 to 4:45 p.m. - classroom C3; 5 to 7:30 p.m. - classroom Matassi

Type of evaluation

Final discussion on a written paper of approx. 20,000 characters on a topic selected in cooperation with prof. Giardini For Erasmus students the exam can be held in their native language or in English
