Programme

The course teaches the linguistic skills, in written and oral production, necessary to reach a B1 level, with particular attention to those associated with the disciplines of the program of study. We will focus on the grammar, syntax and lexicon related to the communicative context of the artistic field and which allow the understanding of the main points of texts about arts and media.

Type of delivery of the course

Lessons will be taught in class and in English. Occasionally, there will be some pair- and group-work. The course consists of 30 hours and it'll be possible to attend online via TEAMS. Teaching will also include showing of PPT slides and audiovisuals. More details about the way the course is structured will be given the first day of class.

Attendance

Attendance is optional but highly recommended.

Type of evaluation

The exam consists of two parts: a written and an oral one. Only the students who pass the written part can take the oral part. In the written exam there will a reading comprehension with brief open questions and a writing production part about topics studied in class. The oral exam will be a informal conversation at the intermediate level and a descriptive question about one topic discussed in class.
