The course examines the relationship between the art of movement and the movement of images, analyzing dance and video in cases of documentation of performances or artistic creation and their possible combinations. In the chronological span from the second half of the twentieth century to contemporary experiences, the course is based on the vision, the commentary and the study of the main cases of dance in video.
The objectives of the course are to trace a history of dance and performance of the last decades through video production, recognizing the elements of the single languages and those generated by their grafting. Through a multidisciplinary approach, the course aims at the acquisition of knowledge related to the intermediality of the languages of the scene and to the problems of the documentation of the performative experience.
