WORKSHOP OF THEATRE CRITICISM
The workshop introduces through direct and guided experiences to the professional skills and practices of observation and writing in theatre criticism, in print media and periodicals, in radio, tv and media channels and in digital information. The participants are led to study and witness theatre practices beyond performances, with a deep insight in economies, cultures and projects of performing arts. Besides theatre criticism, students will be also involved in training activities concerning press office, promotional networks and publishing and multimedia projects about festivals and theatre seasons and meetings.

Shows scheduled in Rome in the same period will be recommended (the theaters will be asked for a reduced ticket for the students of this laboratory), and artists may be invited to compare themselves with. Each student will have to expose the instrumentation and potential at their disposal, and will have to put their experience and goals to good use in the tests that will be woven into the exercises. Including the comparison between themselves and with the teacher, and with the critical heritage gradually provided by the information and in-depth bodies.
Programme
We will try to explore the limits and opportunities of new forms of theater criticism (from daily newspapers and periodicals to those provided by new technologies, as well as radio and TV). There will be written and oral exercises, and discussion between students and teacher on shows on stage or which are part of each person's heritage.
