The course aims to provide students with
• An introduction to the United Nations 2030 Agenda for sustainable development in its unity and in its general articulation
• The analysis of the 17 SDGs (Sustainable Development Goals)
• The critical discussion of the structure of the Agenda and the links between its various objectives, both in terms of synergies and possible conflicts
• Insights into some objectives of the Agenda, in connection with the specific interests and / or study plans of individual students
At the end of the course, the student will be able to discuss in depth the policies of the UN on sustainable development

Programme

For several years now, the course has been dedicated to an in-depth study of the topics presented in the UN 2030 Agenda.
The in-depth studies will be conducted according to the Environmental Humanities approach and in collaboration with the teaching initiatives promoted by the Minor in Environmental Humanities and the Master of Environmental and Territory Studies.
A detailed calendar of lectures and topics will be published by January 2025.

La prova finale consisterà nella presentazione di un elaborato da discutere brevemente in una data d'appello (a vostra scelta).
Indicazioni per l'elaborato:
lunghezza minima 30.000 caratteri.
Svolgimento: discutere - utilizzando quanto approfondito a lezione - i capitoli Introduzione; cap. 8. Assemblare ordini misti spaziali e temporali del volume di Saskia Sassen, Territorio, autorità, diritti, Bruno Mondadori, Milano 2008.
Consegna: una settimana prima della data d'esame prescelta, spedendo l'elaborato per mail a: federica.giardini@uniroma3.it

Final discussion on a written paper of approx. 20,000 characters on a topic selected in cooperation with prof. Giardini For Erasmus students the exam can be held in their native language or in English
