Programme

Rome Contemporary
The course analyzes the scenario of artistic renewal in Rome, from the 1950s to the 1970s. Attention will be paid to the dynamics of transatlantic exchanges, to some protagonists, to the places of experimentation, to the declinations of the performative and "process" and to the crucial exhibitions that have renewed the exhibition formats and broadened the horizon of artistic creation. Starting from the historical perspective, the course intends to open the debate on contemporary scenario with visits and meetings with professionals to reflect on curatorial practices, to the current geographies of experimentation and to the dimension of the Archive as a perspective of research and definition of new artistic-curatorial projects.
