The course is devoted to the profiling of a new field of research - through the contribution of political philosophy, aesthetics, history of economics, environmental justice, social geography, urban studies, etc.- to the acquisition of analytical and interpretative conceptual tools in relation to the general dimensions of “environment” and “territory”.
International students can ask for a final exam in their native language or in English.

Programme

he Laboratory continues its in-depth exploration of the themes and methods related to the Environmental Humanities. For the academic year 2025-2026, the Laboratory will be held in collaboration with Enrico Milazzo, a researcher at the Royal College of Art in London, within the framework of the CLIMAVORE x Jameel at RCA project. This project aims to rethink the ways of producing and consuming food in the face of the climate crisis.

The lessons will address the following topics:

environmentally friendly agricultural practices (agroecology)
relationships of collaboration and mutualism among those who cultivate from the perspective of social agriculture
multi-species co-evolutionary relationships
practices and conflicts for the food autonomy of communities
environmental movements and strategies for the struggle for the rights of nature and farmers
practices of care and collective health"
